Mr. Larsen, author of The Selected Works of T. S. Spivet, will share his conception of this special debut novel, and will answer questions on themes. When twelve-year-old genius cartographer T.S. Spivet of Montana receives an unexpected phone call from the Smithsonian announcing he has won an award, life as normal is interrupted and a wild, cross-country adventure begins!
Mr. Larsen is a filmmaker, teacher, and writer. He has shot a number of documentaries in the US, UK and sub-Saharan Africa and taught creative writing workshops all over the country. In addition, Reif went to Brown University in Educational Studies and currently teaches at Columbia University where he is finishing his MFA in fiction. Refreshments and book signing to follow. Reservations required. Free; however get tickets at the Library.
